No need to worry about spills or crayon marks; simply roll it up and toss it when the party is over. For an added touch of holiday cheer, I crafted the placemats from festive gift wrap. This is an incredibly easy, affordable, and fun way to add a pop of color and pattern to each setting, and yes, they’re also disposable! You’re catching onto my stress-free holiday philosophy, right?
While paper plates are always a convenient option, I found these adorable melamine plates that I knew would also be perfect for Valentine’s Day. It was a small splurge that offered dual-purpose value. I layered them with a full-size dinner plate acting as a charger, creating a more sophisticated, yet still child-friendly, place setting. To complement the festive theme, I used coordinating green plastic cutlery – another disposable win that makes cleanup a breeze without sacrificing style.

Prepare a batch of these enchanting wands, arrange them artfully in a festive jar, and you’ll hear “oohs” and “aahs” from all the children (and adults!) throughout the entire night. Chocolate Caramel Christmas Wands
Ingredients
- 20 pretzel rods
- 11 oz caramels 1 bag – unwrapped
- 1 tsp water
- 16 oz Candiquik chocolate candy coating 1 package
- assorted sprinkles
Instructions

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.

Combine the unwrapped caramels and water in a microwave-safe container. Heat in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring thoroughly between each interval, until the caramel is completely melted and smooth. Pour the melted caramel into a tall canning jar for convenient dipping. Allow it to cool for about five minutes before proceeding.

Carefully dip each pretzel rod into the warm caramel, making sure to leave approximately two inches at the end free to serve as a handle. Gently tap off any excess caramel to ensure an even coating. If needed, use a silicone spatula to smooth the caramel around the pretzel. Place the coated pretzel rods onto the prepared parchment paper.

Continue this process until all pretzel rods are coated with caramel. If you notice the caramel pooling excessively beneath the pretzel, use slightly less caramel on the next dip. The caramel will adhere to the parchment paper until it is fully set. Once set, it will release easily. You can trim away any excess caramel if necessary for a cleaner finish.
